Michael

Lead Veterinary Assistant & Certified Professional Dog Trainer

I grew up in rural New Brunswick before moving to Newfoundland for graduate school, and ended up staying to work at and eventually manage the largest SPCA shelter on the island. While in NL I’m proud to have introduced policies and procedures that give a better quality of life to cats and dogs, particularly the feral cat population and dogs with behavioral needs. I have a background in animal behaviour and have presented research in Canada, the US, and Europe as well as working as a private behavioral consultant and trainer. My research and work concerning environmental enrichment and shelter design has been presented nationally through Humane Canada and is now used in shelters across the country. I currently live in Vancouver with my wife and our three cats, Willy, Franklin, and Frankleen.
